RAIPUR: One person was killed and a couple sustained serious injuries when their car plunged into a valley and crashed into a tree near Kondagaon on Saturday.
Police said the deceased was identified as Lokesh Pillai, who was driving a family friend’s daughter and son-in-law to Jagdalpur. Rizwan and his wife Seona were injured. The accident took place after the speeding car went off road and rammed into a tree, police said adding that it was also raining. The locals managed to pull out the couple, who were later shifted to a hospital. The car were cut open to retrieve the driver’s body, who got married just about a month ago.
