Chevrolet has stopped making the BrightDrop electric van, which means the number of competitors for Rivian’s electric van has gone down by one. But it also means that Chevy dealers are pretty desperate to get rid of the remaining inventory, so there are some fantastic deals to be had for those who are looking for a solid, battery-powered commercial vehicle made by General Motors.
Whether you need a simple van for your business or you’re planning on converting one into a home on wheels for that #vanlife, there are some huge discounts on brand-new vehicles, so look carefully at your local dealers, and you might just find the right one.
Probably the biggest discount in the country right now is a whopping $29,000 for a 2025 Chevrolet BrightDrop 400 with zero miles on the clock, and it’s offered by Bomnin Chevrolet in Miami, Florida, as spotted by Carscoops. With the discount, the van retails for just $40,435–a drop of almost 42% over the original price.
This particular van is a front-wheel drive model with the standard range battery pack, so it has a total output of 233 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, while the official range rating is 177 miles on a full charge. Speaking of charging, the BrightDrop 400 can take in up to 120 kilowatts from a DC fast charger, so it’s not exactly lightning-fast, but for this price, it’s still a great deal.
But this is not the only big discount out there–many like it are available across the country. Chevrolet of Troy, Ohio, has a similar BrightDrop 400 in stock, with the same $29,000 discount on the hood, but the final price is even lower–$39,995.
If an all-wheel drive model or the larger BrightDrop 600 is more to your liking, then expect to pay $21,500 less than the MSRP, as that’s the main dealer discount that’s offered across the board until Jan. 2, 2026. A brand new 2026 Chevy BrightDrop 400 dual-motor is currently on sale for $60,035 at Kelley Chevrolet in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Similarly, a $50,575 BrightDrop 600 AWD is being sold by Simpson Chevrolet of Garden Grove, California.
This is just the tip of the iceberg, though. According to Chevrolet’s online work truck locator, there are almost 3,000 BrightDrop vans in stock at dealerships, so there’s plenty to choose from. As a reminder, the top-spec model with the biggest battery has a maximum driving range of 272 miles, so it’s not just an urban runabout.
A few independent outfitters have been using the BrightDrop van as a base for custom-made RVs, but if affordability is the name of the game, camping wannabes might want to go at it alone and modify a cut-price BrightDrop to their liking–potentially saving tens of thousands of dollars in the process. The cheapest ready-made BrightDrop-based RV, the Coachmen RVEX, starts from $150,000 and goes all the way up to $200,000 for the top-spec model. Meanwhile, the Grounded G3 starts from $165,000 and tops out at $200,000.
While the BrightDrop is no longer being manufactured, most–if not all–of the models that rolled off the assembly line in Canada are still covered by an eight-year warranty that’s backed up by General Motors, so customers should be covered if anything goes wrong.
