Chelsea vs Manchester United FA Youth Cup semi-final fixture date confirmed

Manchester United will travel to face Chelsea in the FA Youth Cup semi-final on Saturday 21 March.

United will make the journey to Stamford Bridge next week for the 5.15pm kick-off with tickets now on sale for the hotly anticipated clash.

Neil Ryan's side booked their place in the last four of the competition last month when they defeated Wigan 2-1 at Old Trafford courtesy of strikes from Shola Shoretire and Deji Sotona.

United have conceded just one goal on their route to the semi-finals having kept clean sheets in victories against Lincoln City, Norwich and Leeds United.

Chelsea booked their own place in the last four of the competition when Armando Broja netted the only goal of their quarter-final win against Millwall.

United are into the FA Youth Cup semi-finals for the first time since 2012 and there is a change of format to the competition this year.

The semi-final is now a single-tie fixture, with the winners earning a place in the final. If the score is level at 90 minutes, a period of 30 minutes extra-time will be played. If the scores remain level after that, penalties will be taken to determine the result.

United defeated Chelsea 4-3 in the FA Youth Cup last season thanks to an incredible hat-trick from teenage sensation Mason Greenwood.
