Chelsea told what will happen to Kai Havertz and Timo Werner if they sign Erling Haaland

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright believes Kai Havertz and Timo Werner will still have big parts to play in Thomas Tuchel's plans if Chelsea complete a summer transfer for Borussia Dortmund ace Erling Haaland.

The Blues, who sealed their spot in the final of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday evening, defeating Real Madrid 2-0 in the second-leg of their semi-final showdown at Stamford Bridge, are set to prioritise adding a new striker to their ranks this summer in a bid to strengthen their ambitions of cementing themselves as Premier League title challengers once again.

Despite splashing out around £50million on luring Werner to west London last summer, the Germany international, despite scoring the Blues' opening goal against Madrid, has struggled to hit the high notes on a regular basis.

That means that Tuchel is poised to target a new striker as his top priority ahead of next season, with Dortmund star Haaland believed to be at the very top of his wish list.

Should Chelsea be successful in their efforts to land Haaland, it would certainly see them smash their own transfer record, with him expected to cost more than £100million.

If he was to join the Blues, many fear that it would spell the end of Werner's chances to impress and hinder Havertz's progress.

However, former Gunners and England star Wright believes that Tuchel would make a tactical switch and accommodate Havertz and Werner within his team alongside Haaland.

"If Chelsea are to go to that place [at the top], they’re going to need a guy who is going to score the goals,” Wright said during The Kelly and Wrighty Show, as cited by Optus Sport. "It does not make a difference if you have to move people around.

"If they buy Erling Haaland, that means Werner will play on the left.

"Kai Havertz will have to find somewhere, whether he plays as a No.10 which perhaps that is his best position.

"You do not turn down an opportunity to buy someone just because you find it difficult to fit him in.

"And it looks to me like Tuchel is the kind of manager that gets the pieces, then he does what he does with them.

"That’s why all of a sudden we start to see people play unbelievably for Chelsea.

"Because this manager gets the players to play in a system that is suitable to the team, rather than his having a philosophy, like [Maurizio] Sarri, [Andre] Villas-Boas.

"These guys came in with a philosophy they wanted to play while this guy [Tuchel] builds a philosophy around the players he has got."
