Chelsea have wasted no time in bolstering their squad during the summer transfer window.
Deals for Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner were already agreed before the window opened, but their moves became official on July 1, 2020.
And all signs suggest the Blues are planning to do more business before the window shuts amid links to the likes of Jan Oblak, Ben Chilwell, Sergio Reguilon and Said Benrahma among plenty others - including a new centre-back.
With that said, there will be some casualties as head coach Frank Lampard looks to overhaul his squad ahead of the 2020/21 season in which he's looking for his side to close the gap on Liverpool and Manchester City in the Premier League.
One player who could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge this summer is young defender Fikayo Tomori.
According to French publication L'Equipe, as per Get French Football News, Ligue 1 outfit Rennes have opened talks with the Blues over the possible signing of the 22-year-old.
These transfer talks may come as a surprise to some Chelsea fans as Tomori only signed a new contract with the west London outfit last December and appears to be one for the future.
Although, it's unclear as to whether this would be a permanent transfer or a loan deal, but Rennes could be a nice option for Tomori as they will be playing Champions League football next season.
Tomori's potential departure could be fantastic news for Kai Havertz - another player heavily linked with a move to Chelsea.
football.london understands that the only obstacle left for Chelsea to negotiate is Havertz's fee - with Bayer Leverkusen demanding £90m - as the player himself understood to be keen on a move to west London.
Interestingly, since breaking into the first-team picture at Leverkusen in the 2017/18 season, Havertz has worn the no.29 shirt.
The incumbent number 29 at Chelsea is Tomori, but he is now being linked with an exit this summer.
So it could be that Havertz gets his dream shirt number at Chelsea thanks to Tomori.
