Chelsea news: Transfer meeting planned for Matthijs de Ligt as Nathan Ake price-tag revealed

Here are your latest Football.London Chelsea headlines on Wednesday, June 29.

Meeting planned for Matthijs de Ligt

Whilst negotiations drag on with Juventus and Matthijs de Ligt, new Blues owner Todd Boehly is preparing to look elsewhere for alternative options. It has been reported that Chelsea are 'serious' about rivalling Paris Saint-Germain for a player held in high regard by Spurs boss Conte but they must act quickly as the Parisians are looking to wrap up a deal very soon.

As a result of how late they are to the party, Thursday is a key day for the Blues as they look to break the deadlock with Juventus in these negotiations. With Skriniar looking far gone, the 22-year-old is the main option on the table. They could get creative too with Calciomercato reporting that Jorginho could be added into negotiations alongside Timo Werner.

Nevertheless, Gazzetta dello Sport have claimed that the Blues have made the ‘first assault’ for this mega-money signing and have a meeting on Thursday with the Old Lady to try and hash out a deal before pre-season officially gets underway this weekend.

Nathan Ake's true transfer value revealed as Chelsea aim to complete double £71m Man City swoop

Wesley Fofana, Max Kilman, Adam Webster and others were names being speculated on Chelsea fan Twitter over the last few days after it was revealed that a Premier League-proven defender was to be targeted alongside a European option.

But, as the Blues did with Romelu Lukaku last summer, on a smaller scale this time, Todd Boehly is looking to replicate that similar route with a certain Dutch international who certainly has unfinished business at Stamford Bridge. Nathan Ake never made himself a mainstay in various Chelsea teams as a certain loan spell which eventually turned permanent on the South Coast at AFC Bournemouth convinced Man City to spend a whooping £40million in the summer transfer window of 2020.

A move that hasn't really worked out for the 27-year-old who has been used as a rotational player in the whole with the other top centre-halves that Pep Guardiola has at his disposal. Therefore, it's no wonder that the current Premier League Champions are up for generating a huge transfer windfall from the sale of both Ake and Raheem Sterling to Chelsea this summer.

Chelsea are hoping to pay around £45m for City's number 7 but how much will their number 6 cost, considering he still has three years remaining on his current deal in east Manchester?

Raheem Sterling's Chelsea 'done deal' praised as Todd Boehly's secret Man City talks revealed

Raheem Sterling's Chelsea transfer is moving quickly and that is a credit to new owner Todd Boehly who has pulled out all the stops to ensure that the Man City winger will be signed potentially before pre-season starts this weekend at Cobham.

After weeks of speculation as to what the Blues' £200million transfer window could look like, certain targets are now emerging as prime candidates in Thomas Tuchel's much-needed attacking re-shuffle. It took for Romelu Lukaku's impending loan move to Inter Milan for movement to be seen on this front. Sterling has been Chelsea's prime attacking target this summer and some sources have even gone on to jump the gun in announcing the transfer as a 'done deal' already in collaboration with Gabriel Jesus' move to Arsenal. However, football.london understands that those claims are a little premature with a new and improved bid for the 27-year-old expected to be lodged on Tuesday.

A compromise of around £45m is expected to be agreed upon between the two clubs and how quickly things have progressed on this front can be put down to how Boehly has acted already in the best interests of the club and Tuchel in his new interim sporting director type of role that he has taken up as a result of Marina Granovskaia stepping down. The Manchester Evening News has revealed that the part LA Dodgers owner personally contacted the Three Lions Internationals' camp himself to get the ball rolling on a transfer which is forecasted to be completed by the end of this week, depending on how the Citizens react to the Blues' request of also wanting Nathan Ake included in negotiations.
