Chelsea news: Sergej Milinkovic-Savic transfer rubbished as Jules Kounde 'worry' revealed

Here are your latest football.london headlines on July 1.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic agent talks 'rubbished'

There have been mild rumours up to date suggesting the Lazio midfielder could be moving to the Premier League as the Blues started to steer away from Declan Rice this summer.

The Daily Mail and others had reported that the Blues had been offered the chance to sign the Serbian by his agent Mateo Kezman. There were even indications that a certain Lazio chief was in London to negotiate a potential deal but this has now been rubbished.

Lazio director Igli Tare told Italian outlet II Messaggero: '“It is not true," regarding these so-called London talks.

Jules Kounde worry

With all focus on securing the signings of Nathan Ake and Matthijs de Ligt, the Kounde front has gone quiet now for some time.

Despite falling down the list in terms of priorities, the general consensus was that the Blues would still make a move for a player that manager Thomas Tuchel wants to play at right-wing-back to start 2022/23 off with as he adapts to a new league.

But the lack of solid updates has worried Sevilla reportedly, with the Andalusians reportedly feeling a sense of 'uneasiness' at the situation, according to Marca.

Things can still change quickly of course but the worry from the La Liga side was certainly unimaginable when Marina Granovskaia was in-situ.

Matthijs de Ligt to Chelsea 'close' as Juventus identify Thomas Tuchel favourite to replace him

Matthijs de Ligt to Chelsea has seemingly moved closer as Juventus prepare for life without the Dutchman as a contingency plan has been put into plan by the club ahead of crunch talks.

The Dutchman's move to the Premier League has taken a massive step forward with the Old Lady now quoting well below the £103million release clause that Juve's No. 4 has in his contract. A reported fallout between the player and Juventus board over new contract negotiations has seemingly put the Serie A outfit in a position where the parting of the ways for the right price could be the best option on the table now for all involved.

Chelsea were initially worried that they could themselves be priced out for the 22-year-old Ajax prodigy but the fallout with his current club has handed manager Thomas Tuchel his ideal situation. It is understood that despite Jules Kounde always being the club target when Marina Granovskaia was in charge of transfer business, Tuchel himself has always personally preferred de Ligt over the Frenchman.
