Chelsea news: Blues cruise to Champions League win as rivals sent Thomas Tuchel warning

Chelsea's Champions League prospects are starting to look good after their 2-0 win against AC Milan in Italy on Tuesday evening.

Graham Potter's side cruised to a comfortable win thanks to first-half goals from Jorginho and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Milan defender Fikayo Tomori, who started his career at Stamford Bridge, was sent off in the 18th minute when the game was goalless.

Chelsea fans will be delighted after their poor start to the tournament. The Blues picked up just a point from their opening two games against Red Bull Salzburg and Dinamo Zagreb, but they're now top of the group. Here are the latest headlines from Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea win again

Chelsea's victory against Milan on Tuesday evening was their second in succession, as they defeated them 3-0 at Stamford Bridge just six days before. Speaking to BT Sport after his team's win at the San Siro, Potter said: "To come here and win is not easy.

"Credit to the players. They were really good. We had a bit of luck with the opposition going down to 10 men. Overall the performance was good. It's nice to keep a clean sheet and to come away with three points is fantastic."

Tomori was sent off after getting the wrong side of Mason Mount and pulling him down in the box, conceding a penalty. On the red card, Potter added: "It's hard from where I'm sitting. It looks like he had his hand on him and Mason Mount was through on goal.

"I need to look again clearly. It's nice for the penalty and nice for Jorginho to score. It was a nice move to lead to it. It is what it is. Sometimes they go for you.

"It's tricky. You want to control the game but not to be too passive. With the atmosphere here, one action can result in a goal, the stadium erupts and they feel like they have an extra man."

Remember Bakayoko?

One player who wasn't involved in Wednesday night's game was Tiemoue Bakayoko, the Chelsea midfielder who is on loan at Milan.

Bakayoko signed for the Blues in July 2017 after helping Monaco win the Ligue 1 title. "He's a complete midfielder," once said Didier Deschamps. "He has an important athletic presence, he's good at recovery, he scores decisive goals and is able to project himself."

Yet the move didn't go to plan. After playing 43 games for Chelsea during the 2017/18 campaign, Bakayoko has spent the last four seasons out on loan and has warmed the bench in all nine of Milan's Serie A fixtures this season. But how did his career come to this?

Klopp reminded of Tuchel's fate

Ex-player Jason Cundy believes Liverpool could sack legendary manager Jurgen Klopp after their poor start to the season. The Reds, who have lifted seven trophies under their German coach, have won just two of their eight Premier League fixtures this term.

Cundy believes Thomas Tuchel's departure from Chelsea proves no manager is untouchable. Tuchel was sacked last month, despite winning the Champions League, European Super Cup and Club World Cup - as well as reaching three other major finals.

Cundy said: "I said not long ago is there any reason why Klopp can't be sacked? This was after Tuchel got sacked by Chelsea. Chelsea were above Liverpool in the league and at that stage had a better start to the Champions League group stage, that was the situation."

The talkSPORT pundit added: "The money-men upstairs, if it looks like Liverpool might miss out on the top four, let me tell you some stranger decisions have been made."
