Chelsea news: Anthony Gordon makes stance clear as Blues suffer another summer setback

Chelsea were unable to continue their perfect start to the season on Sunday, drawing with Tottenham Hotspur, and the fallout from that result has continued into the new week.

Harry Kane scored a last-gasp equaliser at Stamford Bridge to leave Thomas Tuchel's side on four points from two games, rather than the maximum of six. However, much of the conversation after the game surrounded the apparent bad blood between Tuchel and opposite number Antonio Conte.

Both managers learned their fate on Monday, while there has also been progress on the transfer front for the Blues. Here are the latest news lines coming out of west London.

Gordon keen on move

Chelsea transfer target Anthony Gordon has indicated he would be open to a move, though it wouldn't come cheap. The London side could end up paying as much as £50m for the 21-year-old, who enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last season.

Gordon has featured regularly at Goodison Park under former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard. However, amid interest from the Blues, he is understood to have indicated that he wants Lampard to consider the offer from last season's third place finishers.

Everton have fought off interest from a number of clubs over Gordon, who made his debut for the club aged just 16. Newcastle and Tottenham Hotspur have also been keen, but Chelsea have shown a willingness to go as high as £45m for the youngster.

Edwards knocks back Blues approach

Former Liverpool transfer chief Michael Edwards has turned down the chance to return to Premier League football with Chelsea. Edwards left Liverpool at the end of last season, announcing his plans several months earlier.

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly had been keen to bring in a man responsible for some impressive transfer business during his time on Merseyside. However, according to the Athletic, Edwards is not ready to return to Premier League football.

Edwards emerged as a target for Chelsea after the departure of director Marina Granovskaia. Granovskaia had been involved in much of the Blues' transfer business, with owner Todd Boehly stepping in as interim sporting director after her departure.
