Chelsea legend John Terry sends message to Liverpool and gloats about Blues record

Chelsea legend John Terry has sent Liverpool a message after the Reds lost their 68-game unbeaten run at Anfield on Thursday night.

Jurgen Klopp's side suffered a late 1-0 defeat to Burnley in the Premier League, with Ashley Barnes netting a late penalty to give the Clarets a shock victory.

It brought to an end a near four year run by Liverpool without a defeat on Merseyside.

The last time they suffered a loss at their home ground was in April 2017 when a Christian Benteke brace gave Crystal Palace a 2-1 victory.

Chelsea have a coaching issue rather than player issue

Following Liverpool's defeat by Burnley, Terry took to Instagram with a post to highlight how impressive Chelsea's unbeaten record at Stamford Bridge was between February 2004 and October 2008.

The 40-year-old, who is now a first-team coach at Aston Villa, posted a cartoon picture of himself in Chelsea's colours, along with Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba and Jose Mourinho in front of a castle with flags representing all the games the Blues had either drawn or won in that period.

His caption read: "86 games, 4 years unbeaten at home @chelseafc

"Some record this is, it’s only when you retire and appreciate how good Liverpool have been to even get close to it.

"Will this ever be beaten?"

The 86-game unbeaten run by Chelsea - which was ironically ended by Liverpoool - remains a Premier League record.

Next up for Liverpool is three successive away trips - to Manchester United in the FA Cup and then Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United in the league.

Chelsea host Luton Town in the FA Cup on Sunday before home league games against Wolves and Burnley.
