Graham Potter has offered Christian Pulisic a fresh start at Chelsea, only months after the American international was tempted to leave Stamford Bridge.
Manchester United considered a loan move for the 24-year-old over the course of the summer, with Pulisic keen to guarantee as much first-team football as possible before the World Cup after falling out of favour under Thomas Tuchel.
Newcastle were another club strongly linked with former Borussia Dortmund forward, who played a key role in securing Potter’s first win in charge of the club against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Pulisic helped tee up Conor Gallagher’s dramatic late winner at Selhurst Park and could be handed a chance over the course of a frantic month of action for Chelsea.
With the Champions League group stages soon to get back underway, the games come thick and fast between now and this winter’s tournament in Qatar.
Speaking of Pulisic, Potter said: “I think players go through periods of their careers where they have to suffer a little bit for whatever reason and don’t get their gametime that they would like and it’s part of the job, it’s part of the sign up to being a Premier League player. It’s not straightforward to be a regular in a top-four team.
"I can only comment on him in terms of how he’s been with me. Really positive, he’s an intelligent guy, articulate, knows how to express himself. My conversation with him has been good and positive, I’m not going to judge anybody on what has happened in the past, I’m going to make my own mind up. Football hopefully decides."
