Chelsea fans all point out the same flaw in starting line-up against Burnley

Chelsea fans have bemoaned the lack of Timo Werner in the Blues' starting line-up against Burnley.

Frank Lampard has made six changes from the side that faced Krasnodar in the Champions League in midweek.

That includes resting Werner, who drops to the bench in place of Tammy Abraham.

With the Blues' squad containing some exciting firepower in attack, Lampard is able to rotate his strikeforce and give players a rest when they need to.

Yet with summer signing Werner yet to hit top form at Stamford Bridge, many fans were disappointed he was not given the chance to get among the goals against a struggling Burnley side.

Werner netted his first Champions League goal in the 4-0 win in Russia in midweek but that was not enough to keep him in the side.

The striker's former manager at RB Leipzig, Julian Nagelsmann, earlier this week revealed he had spoken to the 24-year-old about life in the Premier League and the fact it was sometimes tougher than playing in Germany.

He said: "When I watch games of the Premier League I recognise that it's a very tough and good league.

"I talked to Timo Werner as well, he told me that it's hard to play against teams in the Premier League - a bit harder, sometimes, than to play against teams in the Bundesliga.

"So perhaps it's one of the best leagues in the world, I think that's clear, but perhaps it's the best league in the world."

Elsewhere in the starting XI, Lampard rang the changes.

Thiago Silva returned to the starting XI along with Reece James, N'Golo Kante, Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic.

That sees Cesar Azpilicueta, Toni Rudiger, Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic and Callum Hudson-Odoi making way.
