Chelsea eye second Arsenal 'hijack' for £25m forward after securing Mykhailo Mudryk transfer

Chelsea could be set to deal their rivals Arsenal yet another blow in the January transfer window with a move for one of their transfer targets. The links come shortly after the Blues already successfully "hijacked" the Gunners' move for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhailo Mudryk.

The 22-year-old was confirmed as a new Chelsea player on Sunday, signing an eight-and-a-half-year deal following an £88.6million agreement between the two clubs. Arsenal had seen three bids to Shakhtar turned down, though backed out as soon as they were outbid.

Upon his arrival, Mudryk said: "I’m so happy to sign for Chelsea. This is a huge club, in a fantastic league and it is a very attractive project for me at this stage of my career. I’m excited to meet my new team-mates and I’m looking forward to working and learning under Graham Potter and his staff."

The Blues don't appear done there though as links continue to appear surrounding further transfers before the close of the January window. Moises Caicedo of Brighton has been rumoured with a switch to fix issues in the midfield, but he may not be the only swoop from the Seagulls.

That's because the Daily Mail reports that Chelsea are also eyeing a move for forward Leandro Trossard, who has been on the radar of rivals Arsenal too. The Belgian looks set for an exit in the coming weeks, with a reported price tag of £25million, following a falling out at the club.

The 28-year-old has continued to impress with his versatility and finishing ability in the past few seasons, meaning there could be a potential coup of a signing available.
