Chelsea evening headlines as David Alaba enquiry made and Frank Lampard's Kai Havertz statement

Here are the Chelsea evening headlines on Wednesday, June 24.

Jorginho unlikely to leave the Blues this summer

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is unlikely to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer, according to the player’s agent.

Joao Santos has revealed clubs are unwilling or unable to match the Blues’ valuation of the Italian midfielder, despite being linked with Juventus.

Santos told Calcio Mercato: “It will be a unique market because nobody knows when it will return to normal, if we play the next season without fans then nobody will be able to afford signings.

“The next season could be behind closed doors, and that’s a big deal. Chelsea have already spent because they were unable to buy last year.”

Chelsea make approach for Chilwell alternative

Chelsea remain interested in Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell, but are also pursuing alternatives to the England left-back, according to the Athletic.

The Foxes are said to be holding out for a £70m fee for Chilwell, and the Blues are keen on getting him for a cheaper fee.

However, Frank Lampard is also believed to be looking elsewhere, and David Alaba of Bayern Munich is also an option.

The Athletic are reporting that the Blues have made an enquiry to the Bundesliga champions about the availability of the Austria international.

Lampard responds to Havertz bid rumours

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has denied the Blues have made an official bid for Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Kai Havertz.

The highly-rated German has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks, but Lampard has insisted the reports are not true.

“He’s obviously a top player, but to carry on from my answer before, I’m certainly not going to comment on other players at other teams. And it cannot be our focus. So, nothing to say,” the Blues boss said in his pre-match press conference.

“No. No bids have gone in.”
