Cheeky Prince Louis 'steals show' at Queen's Platinum Jubilee

The Royal Family has been out and about today around central London to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee. Events are being staged over the next few days to mark the occasion with plenty of royal sightings to be had.

Obviously, the main focus of the Bank Holiday weekend will be the Queen herself as she make appearances to commemorate being on the throne for 70 years. However, for many people today, it is a younger member of Her Majesty's family who has "stolen the show" so far.

Many have been left in hysterics at the cheeky antics of Prince Louis, the youngest child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The boy who is fifth in line to the throne has caught the attention of onlookers throughout the day.

He attended Trooping the Colour, which was presided over by his grandfather Prince Charles rather than his great-grandmother, being taken along The Mall to Horse Guards Parade in a carriage with his brother Prince George and sister Princess Charlotte. The children gave royal waves to the crowds gathered outside before Prince Louis gave his dad a salute as the Duke of Cambridge took part of the military procession.

After this, the Royal Family returned to Buckingham Palace where they stood on the balcony to wave at the crowds and watch a specially commissioned RAF flypast featuring classic aircraft like Spitfires along with the Red Arrows. And it was during this that Prince Louis seemed to ramp up the comedy stakes.

Throughout the display, the four-year-old was spotted pulling silly faces, much to the joy of those watching on. At one point, he was seen covering his ears and screaming before later being spotted on camera covering his eyes with his hands.

Not everyone appeared to see the funny side of his antics as while Prince Louis stuck his fingers in his mouth and showed his teeth to the aircraft above, his mum the Duchess of Cambridge leaned over and had a word in the youngster's ear. However, it looked like the Queen did not mind as she chatted to her great-grandson throughout with a smile on her face.

Viewers of the Platinum Jubilee events took to Twitter to say how funny they found Prince Louis' actions. Many said he was "the true star of the day" and that he "stole the show".

One person wrote: "Just watched Trooping the Colour...beautiful parade and the Brits have the most spectacular of flypast. Prince Louis is the cutest. He just looks like a little cartoon character."
