Keira Knightley claimed she “was not aware” of calls to boycott the Harry Potter franchise over trans issues before signing on to star in an audiobook series based on JK Rowling’s novels. The actor, 40, is among more than 200 performers in Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions. Asked whether she knew of the boycott before accepting the role, Knightley said: “I was not aware of that, no — I’m very sorry.” The Pride & Prejudice star, who will voice Dolores Umbridge, added: “I think we’re all living in a period of time where we’re all going to have to figure out how to live together, aren’t we? And we’ve all got very different opinions.”

Jenner blasted for fake police clip

Kylie Jenner is under fire after sharing a promotional clip for her cosmetics line featuring fake police officers escorting her in handcuffs — a move branded “tone-deaf”.

The 28-year-old billionaire posted the video to promote her King Kylie collection. It landed badly online however, arriving as immigration raids and police crackdowns dominate headlines across the United States.

Cotton ‘wobbly’ after death of ex Watkins

Fearne Cotton has revealed she is struggling to sleep after her paedophile ex-boyfriend Ian Watkins was killed in jail.

The presenter, 44, and the former Lostprophets singer dated briefly in the early 2000s before his horrific crimes were revealed. He was killed last weekend at Wakefield Prison, where he was serving 29 years for child sex offences. Following his death, Cotton shared an Instagram video speaking about shame and other topics. She said: “I’m not sleeping well. My brain is a bit wobbly at the moment but I’m grasping the lessons life is chucking my way.”

‘Genius’ R&B pioneer D’Angelo dies at 51

Singer D’Angelo, who helped pioneer the sound of neo-soul and inspired a generation of R&B artists, has died at 51. The Grammy award-winning musician passed away at his home in New York following a battle with pancreatic cancer. D’Angelo rose to fame with his 1995 debut album Brown Sugar. His 2000 follow-up record, Voodoo, earned him two Grammys including best R&B album. Jamie Foxx, Missy Elliott and Tyler, the Creator were among those paying tribute, while Lauryn Hill described him as a “genius”.

Munchetty feared being seen as ‘weak’

Naga Munchetty has said she found it difficult to open up about her chronic health condition while working at the BBC because of fears she would be seen as “weak”.

The BBC Breakfast presenter, 50, revealed she endured agonising symptoms including heavy bleeding, fainting and severe pain every two and a half weeks for more than three decades before finally being diagnosed with adenomyosis, in which the lining of the womb grows into the muscle, in 2022.
