Cheap tickets for The Lion King, Bugsy Malone and Home Alone in Manchester this November

Last week, The Lion King kicked off its huge run at Manchester’s Palace Theatre , and has today announced that it will be extended for another three weeks, running from October to March. It means theatre goers will have a whopping 19 weeks to catch the show.

Originally the production of the Disney classic was to run from October 27 to February 19, but it will remain in the city centre until March 11, due to ‘phenomenal demand’.

Already the season has sold over 200,000 tickets for initial weeks of performances, and now, more tickets will be released for the new dates. Priority tickets for the extension will be available from 10am Tuesday, November 1, with general sale starting at 10am on Wednesday, November 2.

Some tickets for package seats are as much as £112, but fans who want to see the production for less can get tickets from just £20 . Those wanting to catch the show before Christmas will have to be quick with low availability in November and December.

January and February sees more tickets available, but we imagine with Christmas around the corner, many will be snapped up as gifts this festive season.

We all know the powerful story of Simba and his adventure to his destined role as King of the Pridelands. The on-stage production has since been seen by 110 million people worldwide.

In the show, a huge 232 puppets feature to bring the show to life, and it’s certain to dazzle audiences in its nearly five-month residency.

Robin Hawkes, Theatre Director of the Palace Theatre & Opera House said: “Shows of this spectacular scale create an enormous boost not just to Manchester’s thriving cultural scene but to its tourism and hospitality sectors too. We’re absolutely elated that The Lion King has already generated such phenomenal excitement amongst new and current theatregoers alike, and it’s just fantastic that we’ve been able to add these additional performances which will allow even more people the chance to experience this unforgettable production.”
