Cheadle fire: Huge blaze at storage facility as 130 firefighters battle building collapse

Around 130 firefighters with 20 fire engines are still tackling a "significant" commercial property fire in Manchester.

Firecrews have called conditions "challenging" as they battle the blaze that broke out at 1am this morning at a self-storage facility in Cheadle.

At 8.30am - nearly nine hours after the blaze broke out - the service stated they are making 'steady progress' as they offered locals a social media update.

The number of fire engines at the scene has now been reduced but crews will be at the scene for a 'number of hours' to fully extinguish it, they say
