Che Adams sets Pot Two goal as Scotland aim for Nations League success over Ukraine

CHE ADAMS admits Nations League promotion would be the perfect proof of the progress that Steve Clarke's side have made on the international stage.

And the striker is well aware of the extended benefits of victory over Ukraine as Scotland set their sights on a play-off berth for the European Championships.

Successive Hampden wins against Ukraine and the Republic of Ireland leave Clarke's side requiring just a draw in Krakow to secure top spot in League B1 this evening.

Promotion to League A is now within grasp and that achievement would also see Scotland earn a place amongst the second seeds for the upcoming Euro 2024 draw.

Adams said: “It’s a fantastic prospect to be among the elite. To play against some of these players would be a massive achievement and everyone is ready for this.

“I think the nation is ready for it too - as the team has got so much better in the last 18 months or so the we deserve to be there playing against these big teams. It’s testament to everyone that’s involved with the national team.

“Everyone has thought of [the importance of getting into Pot Two] . We are looking forward to the challenge and I think we are pushing in the right direction to be in that section of international football.

“Everyone is looking forward to it and hopefully we can do it.”
