Charlie Nicholas pinpoints Celtic's lucky Scott Brown escape as legend makes 'no contact' claim over Albian Ajeti penalty

Charlie Nicholas fully expects Rangers and Celtic stars Kemar Roofe and Albian Ajeti to be found guilty by the SFA disciplinary department despite the clubs appealing their bans.

Roofe was pulled up for a late challenge on St Johnstone's Murray Davidson while Ajeti was cited for simulation after going down under a challenge from Kilmarnock keeper Colin Doyle to win his team a penalty.

And the outspoken pundit as adamant that the Swiss striker went down without contact despite pictures appearing to show Doyle's arm connected with the former West Ham man's ankle.

Both will receive two game suspensions unless they can argue a convincing case to clear their names. The pair will find out their fate today.

And Nicholas reckons Hoops captain Scott Brown is lucky not to be joining them in the dock after an striking a Killie player with an arm in the same game.

He said: "I expect Kemar Roofe and Albian Ajeti to be found guilty and handed suspensions after the Old Firm hitmen were retrospectively charged by the SFA.

"I didn't think there was malice from Roofe but he caught Murray Davidson with his mistimed tackle.

"It looked like a typical striker's challenge.

"Roofe didn't go in with intent but if you get it wrong then it is a red card.

"I understand why Rangers are appealing the SFA notice of complaint but I don't think they will get much joy. I just can't see on what basis it could be overturned.

"Ajeti was cited for diving to win a penalty at Kilmarnock.

"I didn't think there was any contact and I expect him to serve a suspension too.

"His Celtic team-mate Scott Brown got away with an elbow and the disciplinary set-up is like a lucky dip every weekend as to what will happen."
