Charlie Gilmour set for Norwich as Rangers-mad star to join Premier League new boys

Charlie Gilmour is set to complete a move to Norwich.

The Scotland youth cap is a free agent after leaving Arsenal but will head to Carrow Road in search of first team football.

The 20-year-old played twice for Arsenal in the Europa League last season and was surprisingly released at the end of the last campaign.

But Record Sport understands Gilmour will make the switch to the Canaries and he'll be joined by some familiar faces to Scottish football.

He'll play alongside Kenny McLean as well as former Celtic duo Teemu Pukki and Patrick Roberts.

Former Scotland centre back Grant Hanley is also club captain for Daniel Farke's side.

Gilmour was also linked with a move to his boyhood heroes Rangers. The midfielder regularly travels up to Glasgow for games when he doesn't have one himself.

And fans were hopeful he would move after he was pictured with Gers winger Glenn Middleton.

But it was never a move that was likely to happen with interest from various clubs in England's top flight and second tier.

English-born Gilmour played for Scotland at U15, U16, U17 and U19 level as well as earning caps for England at U16 and U17s.

He made nine appearances for the Billy Stark's under 19 team between 2017 and 2019.
