Charges dropped over bones found at Terowie

Charges have been dropped against a man who was accused of failing to notify the coroner of a death when bones were found in his mid-north home.

Christopher Scott, 25, was arrested after South Australian police found a partial skeleton in a plastic tub hidden in the fireplace of the house at Terowie.

The remains were later identified as Mr Scott's cousin Martin Meffert, who was last seen alive in 2005.

Mr Scott was released on bail last November and the Courts Administration Authority has now confirmed to the ABC the prosecution has withdrawn the charges.
