Chargers kicker Michael Badgley is unlikely to make his 2019 regular season debut on Sunday against the Texans.
Badgley was downgraded to doubtful on Sunday, meaning that the chances of seeing him play are very slim.
Badgley was listed as questionable on Friday with a groin injury that has prevented him from kicking in the first two games. Despite being a full participant in practice, it appears the injury hasn’t completely healed.
Punter Ty Long will resume punting as well as the kicking duties tomorrow. After a promising debut in Week 1, Long was underwhelming against the Lions, as he missed both field goal attempts in the 13-10 loss.
Despite his woes last weekend, coach Anthony Lynn said he was confident in Long if he needed to be called upon to fill in for Badgley again.
