Plans have been submitted to convert a village chapel into offices in Rushcliffe.
The proposals would see the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel in Main Street, Scarrington converted into a "small office facility".
Scarrington is a small village located near Bingham, with easy access via the A52 or A46.
While the building is not listed, it is in a prominent location within the conservation area of the village.
Haven Architecture, writing on behalf of applicant Mr Grant Mason, states: "The proposed conversion does not harm the building and will contribute to the long-term preservation of the chapel, which is an important feature in the Scarrington conservation area.
"The key view of the chapel identified in the Scarrington conservation appraisal is unaffected by the proposal.
"The proposal will allow the building to be repaired and given a new lease of life."
The building would only see some "minor" exterior changes if plans are approved, according to the applicant.
No parking would be added if the development gets the go-ahead, with would-be workers encouraged to cycle or walk to work. Showers and bike storage would be provided at the site.
Haven Architecture adds: "The conversion will provide a good base for rural employment in the knowledge economy.
"It is a use which will not affect the amenity of the surrounding properties and will provide a sustainable future for a valuable community and conservation asset."
The application will now be considered by Rushcliffe Borough Council's planning committee.
