Paris Fashion Week 2025 has been a veritable feast of debuts, with everyone from Jonathan Anderson and Pierpaolo Piccioli to Duran Lantink showing first collections for their new houses.
But the best was well and truly saved for last, with former Bottega Veneta creative director Matthieu Blazy’s much-anticipated Chanel debut scheduled for the final day of fashion month.

It did not disappoint. Fashion writers have described the collection as “a breath of fresh air” and “a galaxy beyond the expectations for Chanel”. The show was set amongst a solar system of illuminated, looming planets. And among the planets sat the stars.
Just about every A-lister worth caring about was present. Margot Robbie was rubbing shoulders with Pedro Pascal while Nicole Kidman accompanied her aspiring model daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, to the front row (ICYMI: Sunday Rose walked for Dior last week). Kidman and her daughters presented a united front in the wake of shocking news about her divorce from Keith Urban.
Ayo Edebiri was busy cracking jokes with Anna Wintour while Gracie Abrams bonded with Belgian singer-songwriter Angèle. Tilda Swinton cut a classically chic figure in a monochrome Chanel look from the latest collection, featuring a black turtle neck and white leather skirt.
Lily-Rose Depp and Kendall Jenner showed off some of the house’s new-age tweed items, with Jenner showing off the traditional garment’s more oversized fit and Depp pairing her tweed coat with funky patterned tights.

Equally buttoned up was Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who wore a slim-fitting grey suit, and Marion Cotillard, who wore a pressed white shirt with a tweed jacket and jeans. The White Lotus’s Carrie Coon showed off one of the collection’s more laid-back looks in a bomber jacket, jeans and a white tee. Also present was billionaire Jeff Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sánchez Bezos.
Ahead of the show, Penelope Cruz and Spanish film director Pedro Almodóvar shared a leather-clad embrace while Michaela Coel posed up a storm. Anna Wintour switched from smiling with Ayo Edebiri to glaring with Baz Luhrmann, until the undeniably brilliant Blazy appeared, forcing the A-list audience to their feet for a standing ovation. Très bien, indeed.
