Tottenham are closing in on a £15m deal for Leeds United star Jack Clarke, according to Sports Mole.
Clarke made 25 appearances for Leeds last season and, at 18, is heavily tipped as one for the future.
Spurs are looking to be active in the transfer market this year after failing to make any signings last summer.
Peterborough United are "no longer involved" in the race to sign Colchester United midfielder Sammie Szmodics, who has been linked with a move to Derby County and Bristol City.
The 23-year-old - who caught the eye after scoring 15 goals in 48 games for the League Two Us last season - had reportedly been interesting the Posh, who confirmed the signing of Szmodics' Colchester teammate Frankie Kent on Saturday.
But Peterborough now seem to have ended their pursuit of Szmodics. When asked on Twitter about three Championship clubs making bids for the central midfielder, Posh owner Darragh MacAnthony replied: "Good luck to them if they have. We're no longer involved."
The Mirror claim Middlesbrough are plotting an audacious move to bring Ben Gibson back to the club from Burnley.
The homegrown defender left Boro a year ago for £15m but managed just one appearance for Premier League side Burnley due to injury.
Burnley are willing to listen to offers for him but he has no plans to drop back to the Championship.'
