Champions League group stage draw: When and where, how to watch, Chelsea's potential opponents

The UEFA Champions League is back and for Chelsea, they will be aiming to retain their title for the first time in the club's history.

Around three months ago, the Blues beat Manchester City 1-0 in Portugal thanks to Kai Havertz's first-half strike past Ederson.

Thomas Tuchel, after just a few months in charge at Stamford Bridge, secured his first major honour as Chelsea manager and will be looking to add to the club's trophy cabinet this season.

So, with that being said, football.london has rounded up all of the key information you need to know ahead of this week's Champions League draw.

When and where is the draw?

The draw for the group stage of this season's competition takes place on Thursday, August 26, around 5pm (UK time) in Istanbul, Turkey.

Who is in the draw?

A total of 29 teams from across Europe have so far qualified for the group stage, with three more clubs' fate still to be decided, with the Premier League having four sides in the competition.

The following are all the clubs already through to the Champions League group stage.

Austria: RB Salzburg

England: Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea

Spain: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla, Villarreal and Atletico Madrid

Germany: Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg

Italy: Inter Milan, AC Milan, Juventus and Atalanta

France: LOSC Lille and Paris Saint-Germain

Moldova: Sheriff Tiraspol

Portugal: Sporting Lisbon, Porto and Benfica

Russia: Zenit Saint Petersburg

Belgium: Club Brugge

Ukraine: Dynamo Kyiv, Shakhtar Donetsk

Netherlands: Ajax

Turkey: Besiktas

Switzerland: Young Boys

Sweden: Malmo

How to watch the draw

The Champions League draw will be shown live on BT Sport 2 and on the BT Sport website, but will require a subscription to the broadcaster.

UEFA will also be streaming the draw live on their official website.
