Solutions

1:C - It was fitting that a defender won the award after such a drab final. Liverpool had just three shots on target but they scored from two of them and Van Dijk helped Liverpool keep a clean sheet., 2:A - Bale was not introduced until the 61st minute but his two goals turned the game in Real Madrid’s favour., 3:B - Ronaldo scored twice for Real Madrid as they beat Juventus 4-1 in Cardiff. Ronaldo is the only player to have scored in three Champions League finals., 4:A - Ramos scored Real Madrid’s goal in normal time and was on target as they beat Atlético Madrid in a penalty shootout., 5:A - Barcelona beat Juventus 3-1 thanks to goals from Rakitic, Suárez and Neymar. Perhaps the most memorable moment of the night came in the 78th minute, when Iniesta was substituted and handed the captain's armband to Xavi, who came off the bench to make the last of his 767 Barcelona appearances., 6:B - Di María was outstanding when Real Madrid beat Atlético 4-1 in extra time in 2014. PSG fans will be hoping he puts in a similar performance this weekend., 7:C - Robben popped up with a last-minute winner for Bayern Munich against Borussia Dortmund and was given the man of the match award for his troubles., 8:A - Drogba had been sent off when Chelsea reached the final in 2008, but he came good in 2012, scoring their equaliser in the 88th minute before stroking home the winning penalty in the shootout. It was his last kick for the club., 9:A - Messi scored for Barcelona as they beat Manchester United in the 2011 final – a repeat of what he had done in the 2009 final., 10:A - Milito scored both goals for Inter as they Bayern Munich 2-0 to wrap up a treble., 11:A - Barcelona passed Manchester United to death in Rome and Xavi was at the centre of it all. , 12:B - Ferdinand captained Manchester United on the night and Cristiano Ronaldo scored his team’s only goal, but Edwin van der Sar was given the man of the match award for his role in the game and the penalty shootout., 13:A - Inzaghi scored both goals as Milan had their revenge against Liverpool two years after their collapse in 2005., 14:C - Eto’o was given the award by Uefa but Thierry Henry – who captained Arsenal on the night – would have voted for Henrik Larsson. "People always talk about Ronaldinho, Eto’o, Giuly and everything, but I didn’t see them today, I saw Henrik Larsson. He came on and changed the game. That is what killed the game. Sometimes you talk about Ronaldinho and Eto’o and people like that; you need to talk about the proper footballer who made the difference and that was Henrik Larsson tonight.", 15:A - Who else? Gerrard scored Liverpool’s first goal and produced an exquisite dive to win the penalty for their equaliser., 16:B - Deco was the star of the show as Porto beat Monaco 3-0 in Germany, giving José Mourinho his first taste of Champions League glory., 17:C - It’s fitting that one of the great defenders was honoured on the night of the most recent goalless final, between Milan and Juventus., 18:D - Zidane earned the man of the match award with a single touch on his weaker foot. His winning goal for Real against Bayer Leverkusen remains one of the greatest finishes in the history of the game.
