Celtics tame Grizzlies 126-107 behind Brown’s career-high 42 points

It didn’t take long to see that almost anything Boston Celtics star forward Jaylen Brown was putting up was going to go through the hoop.

The Georgia native scored a career high 42 points against the Memphis Grizzlies Wednesday night at TD Garden, blowing out the undermanned Western Conference team down seven players to injury or the league’s COVID-19 protocol 126 – 107. Of course the Celtics had nearly matched them in numbers with six out for injury or the protocol as well in the case of wing Javonte Green — but for the Grizzlies, their best players made up much of those in streetclothes.

That included former Rookie of the Year Ja Morant, sitting three to five weeks with an ankle sprain, and saw wing Grayson Allen sprain his as well in the game’s second quarter.

It was a scoring clinic for the Celtics, whose roster hung at least one bucket per player across the entire roster, and four starters in double figures.

Watch the video embedded above for more information about this lopsided contest – and a few looks at the man of the hour himself, Jaylen Brown.
