Celtics injury update: Aaron Nesmith ‘day-to-day’ moving forward as sprained ankle heals

The Boston Celtics saw a pair of wing players go down with sprained ankles in consecutive games as star forward Jaylen Brown‘s injury against the Atlanta Hawks was immediately followed by the same injury in second-year reserve forward Aaron Nesmith when he stepped up to start in Brown’s place against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Now, Celtics head coach Ime Udoka related that the Vanderbilt product is the sole Boston player left on the injury report while speaking to the media after shootaround on Tuesday. While Nesmith has improved, it is “still a swelling and pain tolerance issue for the South Carolina native.

“You can see he’s out there getting some shots, (and) moving around, which is always a positive sign,” added Udoka, hinting that the Celtics were likely to be without Nesmith in their next game, a road tilt with the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday, March 9.
