Celtic Twitter injustice, Rangers kit farce and Kingsley trends in the week on Twitter

Celtic returned to action on Tuesday with a Champions League match against KR Reykjavik, followed by a Premiership test against Dundee United at Tannadice.

Naturally, the majority of tweets from Celtic fans were about Rangers' kit suppliers.  Some of their former players, meanwhile, were more concerned with how their reputations were being recognised on Twitter.

Elsewhere in Scottish football, there was shirt name confusion at Ibrox and the Tony Macaroni Arena, as well as two disappointing displays involving Aberdeen.

Here's how the last seven days unfolded on Scottish Football Twitter.

MONDAY

Shane Duffy still hasn't signed for Celtic.

TUESDAY

Rugby.  Sigh.

WEDNESDAY

Celtic fans just want to slag off James Forrest in peace.

THURSDAY

Aberdeen returned to action against St Johnstone. It wasn't a classic.

Given the uninspiring fare that he'd endured for the previous 81 minutes, it was natural that some people might have got carried away after Ryan Hedges' winner.

@BenjyPalmer tweeted: "Andy Walker suggesting that goal could 'lift the city of Aberdeen' after six months of a pandemic, oil crash and two lockdowns is optimistic, to say the least."

Thursday night saw a number of disappointed Rangers fans sharing stories of shoddy club gear.

"Better never stops" - Castore.

"Banter never stops" - Rangers.

FRIDAY

You'd think the SPFL sharing one of your most memorable goals would be a nice treat on your birthday.

Not if you're Scott McDonald apparently.

McDonald wasn't the only former Celtic player addressing a serious Twitter injustice on Friday.

SATURDAY

As Celtic prepared to face Dundee United at Tannadice, a harrowing moment was recalled.

It was a satisfying end to a satisfying week for fans of Neil Lennon's side.

And they had even more Rangers kit nonsense to lap up on Saturday.

As @alanaldo17 put it: "Yer name's whatever Jimmy f***ing Bell says it is right."

At the Tony Macaroni Arena, meanwhile, there was more uncertainty about the name on a player's shirt.

A late Celtic winner put a shinier gloss on what had been a frustrating afternoon.

SUNDAY

'Ajeti' rhymes with 'netty'.

It's fun to stay at the YYYY.

I didn't bother finding out why, but the week ended with Partick Thistle's mascot trending.
