Celtic transfer target Gyrano Kerk to leave Utrecht as agent has talks with 'big foreign clubs'

Celtic-linked winger Gyrano Kerk looks set to leave Utrecht with his agent confirming talks with "big foreign clubs".

The 24-year-old was reportedly the subject of a Celtic bid in January but this was turned down and a move failed to materialise.

However Record Sport reports that the Dutch club are now ready to cash in on their key player.

While Kerk appeared to rule out a move to Scottish football by saying it was his desire to play in the English Premier League, Utrecht manager John van den Brom said last month that Celtic would likely remain interested.

And his agent Richinel Bryson said: "Movement in the transfer market has been held up because of the coronavirus crisis, but it's back now.

"I have been in plenty of Zoom conversations with big foreign clubs.

"Gyrano has proved he's ready for the next step, although it's not a foregone conclusion that he will leave. But he is very ambitious. He is 24 years old and has had a very strong season.

"At the same time, Utrecht has become his club – they have given him a lot. The club knows our position."

Kerk was named Utrecht's player of the year last season, and is regarded as one of the best attacking players in the Eredivise.

He scored 11 times and notched 12 assists in the 2019/20 campaign, and a number of clubs are said to have been looking at him.
