Celtic to screen Rangers clash live at Parkhead as thousands miss out on Ibrox tickets

Celtic have announced the upcoming Rangers derby will be screened live at Parkhead.

The Hoops are offering fans the opportunity to take in the clash at the Kerrydale Bar inside Celtic Park on Sunday, September 1.

The event, priced at £5, will feature drinks, food and live music before and after the pivotal meeting with Steven Gerrard's side.

Following last season's ticket dispute between the bitter rivals, just 800 Celtic fans will be allocated tickets for the trip to Ibrox, meaning thousands will miss out on going to the game.

That's significantly reduced from the near 8000 afforded with the previous arrangement, where visiting supporters were housed in the entire Broomloan Stand.

But now the Premiership champions have provided punters with an alternative inside the walls of Celtic Park, although supporters must pre-book to gain entry to the event, with the bar having a capacity of around 800.

Fans can call to book on 0141 551 4308, 0141 551 4288, 0141 551 4405 or email events@celticfc.co.uk.

Earlier on Monday, the club revealed ticketing arrangements for the trip across Glasgow in just under a fortnight's time.

Prices have risen to £52 per ticket, up from £49 last season.

Briefs have been balloted among supporters who attended 19 or more domestic away games last term and one domestic away match in the new campaign.

However, the club have warned there's insufficient tickets to satisfy everyone who meets the criteria.
