Celtic star Ismaila Soro expected to be fit for game despite car crash ordeal

Ismaila Soro is expected to be fit for Celtic's midweek clash with St Mirren despite crashing his car on Tuesday morning.

Scotland has been hit by some treacherous weather with freezing temperatures, icy roads and blankets of snow already laying waste to the fixture schedule.

Ayr's visit to Dundee United has already been postponed while amber weather warnings threaten games in the Premiership and Championship.

The conditions have caused some serious disruption at Celtic, too, according to manager Neil Lennon, who spoke to the press ahead of his team's trip to Paisley.

He confirmed that midfielder Soro missed most of their Tuesday morning training session, after he crashed his car in the snow on his way to Lennoxtown, reports the Daily Record.

Lennon said: "Soro had a prang in his car this morning due to the adverse weather conditions. He looks OK. So we are just checking on him, making sure he is alright. He missed a large part of the session."

It is understood that the 22-year-old emerged relatively unscathed, and could feature at St Mirren Park, when the defending champions will look to cut the gap on leaders Rangers in one of their games in hand.

Lennon's team lost out to Jim Goodwin's side when the two sides last faced but they have won both of their matches since and head west in relatively confident mood.

A win would put them to within 18 points of Steven Gerrard's runaway leaders.
