Stephen Welsh wants to experience Champions League football but he expects a tough task against Midtjylland.
Celtic were drawn against the Danish Superliga runners-up Midtjylland in the Champions League second qualifying round.
The first leg in Glasgow on Tuesday, July 20 or Wednesday, July 21 will be new boss Ange Postecoglou's first competitive game in charge.
Celtic have failed to qualify for the group stage of Europe's elite competition since 2018 and Welsh is keen to change that record.
The Coatbridge star said: "Midtjylland will be a quality side. Anyone who is in the Champions League qualifiers is a top side and we’ll have to be very wary of them.

“But we have quality players too and I’m sure it will be a good tie.
“Now the draw has been made, we’re very much looking forward to the game.

“The Champions League is where our players want to be – that’s where the club wants to play, at the highest level possible – so we’re very excited for the two games ahead. Hopefully we do well.
“There’s always pressure when you play for Celtic. That’s what the club comes with and the standards that have been set over the last few years.
"Every game we go into, we’re expected to win and that will be the same next season.”
