Celtic name Champions League squad as three new signings don't make cut

Celtic have confirmed their Champions League squad with the group stage fixtures set to get underway next week.

Brendan Rodgers has named his 25-man strong squad and with homegrown rules in place, he has had some difficult decisions to make.

New signings Gustaf Lagerbielke, Nat Phillips and Luis Palma have all made the cut, but Marco Tillo and Maik Nawrocki miss out.

Confirmed squad: Joe Hart, Scott Bain, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Alexandro Bernabei, Greg Taylor, Stephen Welsh, Gustaf Lagerbielke, Nat Phillips, Anthony Ralston, Alistair Johnston, Tomoki Iwata, Matt O’Riley, Callum McGregor, David Turnbull, Reo Hatate, Odin Holm, Yang, Palma, Daizen Maeda, Kyogo Furuhashi, Hyeongyu Oh, Liel Abada.

Rodgers' side will take on Feyenoord, Atletico Madrid, and Lazio in the group stage of the 2023/24 competition.

The Hoops were drawn from Pot 4 in Monaco and have been handed a tough group, but certainly not the worst possible.

As per usual, group stage matches will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday nights from September through to December.
