Celtic have made an enquiry to Real Oviedo over a transfer for Haissem Hassan, according to a report.
It's claimed the Parkhead club are keen to bring the Egyptian winger to Glasgow this summer.
Hassan, 24, has one year left on his contract with the Spanish club.
It has previously been reported that there is a £10m release clause in Hassan's contract, but there is the expectation a significantly lower fee could be negotiated.
Real Oviedo chief David Fernandez admitted yesterday that a hefty fee could force Oviedo to sell the player.
"We are here to make the best sporting decisions and have the best possible team," he said.
"I don't control the financial aspects.
"We want the best players, but the market will determine when we finalise the squad."
Sky Sports now state Celtic have made an enquiry over a possible deal to sign Hassan.
It's thought club officials are exploring the conditions of a possible deal.
It comes as Ipswich Town have been credited with solid transfer interest in Daizen Maeda.
Celtic have reportedly held talks with the Premier League club.
The winger, 28, has been vocal on his desire to play in the top flight in England.
