Celtic make 'approach' for former Leeds United ace wanted by Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest could see their hopes of signing former Leeds United winger Jack Clarke on loan from Spurs this month dashed.

Clarke is subject to an approach from Scottish Premier League champions Celtic, Football Insider have claimed, with Neil Lennon's side keen to beat Forest to his signature.

Spurs are understood to be keen to let Clarke leave on loan this month with a list of clubs vying for the chance to signing.

Sabri Lamouchi has made no secret of his intention to bring forwards to the City Ground this month to add weight to their automatic promtion push.

Clarke, 19, has also been linked with Queens Park Rangers, Middlesbrough, Brentford, Fulham and Nottingham Forest this month.

Reports last week indicated that Jose Mourinho was keen to ensure the youngster stayed within the London area so that his scouts could keep a close eye on his progress - putting Mark Warburton's QPR firmly in the driving seat.

Clarke started his career at Leeds before he signed for Tottenham in the summer.

Tottenham then loaned the youngster back to Leeds at the start of this season - but his return was unsuccesful.
