Marcelo Saracchi has reportedly agreed a transfer switch to Houston Dynamo, ending any chances of a return to Celtic.
The Boca Juniors defender is thought to have come to an agreement on a three-year deal with the MLS club.
Transfer specialist Cesar Luis Merlo reports the transfer fee will be $1.25m (around £1m) plus add-ons.

The latest update comes after a deal for Saracchi to join Houston had stalled last month. However, it now appears the deal is back on the cards.
Boca Juniors would retain 40 per cent of future transfers for the player as part of the agreement.
Saracchi's reported impending transfer switch comes just days after Martin O'Neill mentioned the full-back in a post-match press conference when quizzed on bringing in a left-back.
"Kieran [Tierney] will be our first choice left back and we need someone to fill in the position.
"I don’t want to throw anything into the melting pot, but [Marcelo] Saracchi hasn’t gone anywhere yet, has he? Well, there we go."
Saracchi claimed he did everything possible to seal a permanent return to Glasgow this summer as he bid farewell to Celtic in a statement on social media.
He posted: "Dear Celtic fans, I'm writing this to say goodbye. We had an intense, beautiful year together where we achieved so many of our goals.
"My agent and I did absolutely everything within our power to make a return to Glasgow happen.
"I'm truly gutted that I won't be able to continue at the club at this stage of my career. However, I know our paths will cross again in the future.
"I wish you all nothing but the best for what's ahead.
"Thank you for everything."
