Celtic-linked Plymouth Argyle striker Lorent Tolaj is reportedly set to seal a £4 million move to Bristol City.

The Scottish Premiership champions were previously said to be leading the chase for the 24-year-old's signature.

Tolaj scored 21 goals in 35 Plymouth appearances last season as they finished eighth in English League One.

His club are now said to have agreed a deal worth £4m plus add-ons with Championship outfit Bristol, and a medical is set.

Celtic remain in the market for attacking reinforcements this summer, even after new arrival Camilo Duran scored his second goal in as many pre-season outings against Middlesbrough yesterday.

Asked about potential incomings after the 1-1 draw, manager Martin O'Neill said: "There has been progress [but] no timeframe. There’s no point saying Monday if they come in on Wednesday instead.

"But what you don’t want to do, as we just found out in one where we thought we had a deal with Iheanacho and it didn’t go, we actually thought it was something we’d sort out.

"I don’t want to say something is absolutely until it’s absolutely done, but progress is definitely being made."

Celtic play their final pre-season friendly against AC Milan next Saturday before competitive action resumes on Monday, August 3 against Dundee.
