Celtic keep tabs on Hibs star Kevin Nisbet ahead of 'summer swoop'

Celtic are expected to make a bid for Hibs striker Kevin Nisbet this summer, and that could see Leigh Griffiths return to the Leith club.

The Edinburgh Evening News report that top-scorer Nisbet is on a 'wanted' list at Celtic Park, but with no new manager yet in place, there have been no bids for the talented Cambuslang 24-year-old.

After knocking back Birmingham City in January the Easter Road club expect more interest in the star they signed from Dunfermline in July, especially if he does well at Euro 2020.

That could prompt Hibs to turn their attention to 30-year-old Griffiths, who is out of contract at Celtic today, having joined from Wolves in 2014.

Celtic have the option to extend that by a year, but Griffiths has endured something of a chequered time of late, having scored just twice since Christmas.

However, Griffiths has been a smash-hit at Celtic, winning seven Premiership titles, three Scottish Cup and four League Cups in eight seasons, which saw him score 123 goals.

Griffiths spent two prolific loan spells at Hibs 9in 2011-12 and 12-13 from Wolves, before signing for Celtic.
