Celtic in transfer fight with Crystal Palace as big spending EPL clubs join race for attacker

Celtic are believed to have been joined by a handful of English Premier League clubs in the hunt for Bamba Dieng of Marseille.

The Senegalese international is in-demand this summer and his chances of playing regularly look bleak after being exiled from senior training at the Ligue 1 club. It is reported by The Daily Mail that Celtic have 'scouted' the attacker who has been labelled 'the new Sadio Mane' back in his homeland. Newcastle United, Leeds United, West Ham United and Crystal Palace are the others believed to be in a similar boat to the Hoops.

EPL newcomers Nottingham Forest are targeting Benfica's Goncalo Ramos and Dieng as they look to bolster their attack. They have an extensive list and one man the Parkhead club - who will play Champions League group stage football this season - is believed to be on it. Reports state all clubs can 'see potential' in the pacy winger.

It's an area of the park where Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has depth in, with Liel Abada, Jota, Daizen Maeda and James Forrest all capable on the flanks. Kyogo Furuhashi and Giorgos Giakoumakis are holding their positions as the key strikers.

Mikey Johnston is also an option in that area of the park but he has been told he can leave on loan during this transfer window.

Belgian side Standard Liege, who are managed by Ronny Deila, are one club interested. Alex Collado and Ross Barkley have been linked with moves to Glasgow in recent days.
