Celtic handed David Colina transfer warning after '€3million bid' for Hajduk Split rising star

Celtic have made a '€3million bid' for Hajduk Split rising star David Colina.

The Hoops are on the look-out for a new left-back to provide some competition for Greg Taylor this season.

And Index Sport believe the Parkhead club have made a verbal offer of €3million for Colina.

But the same report claims Hajduk Split are demanding Celtic pay double that amount.

The 20-year-old played 23 times for Hajduk last term and has represented his country at youth level.

Taylor has impressed since coming into the side towards the end of last season following his move from Kilmarnock 12 months ago.

But with Boli Bolingoli seemingly surplus to requirements, the left-back is an area Neil Lennon would like to strenghten.

Taylor provided two assists in Sunday's 5-1 win over Hamilton as he set up Odsonne Edouard and Jeremie Frimpong in the first half.

Lennon was delighted with the contribution of both full-backs and insists their ability in the final third is a huge asset for the club.

He said: "I like my players to be positive and to penetrate. In Taylor and Frimpong, we have two excellent young full-backs with great energy.

Greg had two great deliveries, I had to remind him of his defensive duties at half time. With Jeremie, we have a such talent. He has so much enthusiasm, quality and energy."
