Celtic get Odsonne Edouard blow as sell-on fee revealed ahead of potential summer transfer

Celtic could lose HALF of their profit from selling Odsonne Edouard this summer, according to a report.

The striker is likely to leave Celtic Park and Leicester are reportedly close to sealing a move for him, with the Hoops wanting £20m for him.

Edouard has just a year left on his deal so Celtic need to sell this summer to get any money for him, but they'll need to give a lot of their profit to PSG.

The Daily Record report that Celtic will need to give PSG 50 per cent of their profit if they sell Edouard for more than £9million.

Leicester reportedly want to pay around £15m for him while Celtic are believed to be holding out for £20m for the Frenchman.

The lower figure would see Celtic make a profit of just £3m if he's sold for that price or £5m if they get the figure they are holding out for.

That's a big blow for any incoming manager with Eddie Howe the favourite for the job. He would be losing the club's top striker while not getting a huge fee in the door to replace him.

Edouard wanted to leave last summer but Celtic decided to block any move in a bid to keep their best players to challenge for 10 In A Row.

But the gamble failed to pay off and the Hoops are unlikely to get the money they wanted for him initially.
