Celtic and Rangers 'target' Lyndon Dykes has price tag named

Livingston are unwilling to sell striker Lyndon Dykes for less than £2m.

Dykes is reportedly a target for Celtic and Rangers, as well as English Championship clubs Middlesbrough, Blackburn Rovers, Stoke City, Millwall, Wigan Athletic and Barnsley.

The 24-year-old Australian scored 12 goals in 33 games for Livi last season, becoming the club's first ever player to score a top flight hat-trick when he netted three against Ross County in December 2019.

Dykes also scored in Gary Holt's side's shock 2-0 win over champions Celtic in September 2019.

The Mail on Sunday reports that the in-demand striker's price tag is £2m, and that Australian national team assistant and former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen is trying to persuade Dykes to play for the country where he was born.

Scotland boss Steve Clarke, meanwhile, is said to hope that Dykes will opt for the country in which he is currently playing his football.

Rangers, meanwhile, have added to their squad this weekend in the form of Leicester City youngster Calvin Bassey.

The 20-year-old can play at left back or centre back, and has signed a four-year deal with the Ibrox club.
