Celebrity Big Brother: When is it back and which celebs are going in?

Eager fans awaiting the release of Celebrity Big Brother will be excited to know rumours are flying about who could appear on the show.

The Big Brother spin-off will see a group of well-known people enter the house, where they will participate in weekly challenges and nominations while being filmed.

A short teaser clip was released on February 15, revealing mystery celebrity contestants hiding their faces from the paparazzi in the most bizarre and creative ways, including a throwback to Jude Law’s famous Mr Napkin Head from The Holiday.

Contestants will be questioned after their eviction on a spin-off programme called Celebrity Big Brother: Late & Live.

But when can we expect the new season of Celebrity Big Brother and who might be on our screens? Here's everything we know.

When is Celebrity Big Brother back?

ITV has said that the reality show's spin-off series will return in March 2024, but an exact date is yet to be confirmed.

The tabloid said filming for VT entrances will begin in mid-late February, ready for the show to go to air in March.

An insider told the Sun: "Not all of the famous faces have even signed on the dotted line yet but the series is going full steam ahead and has already booked in studios to shoot the introductory videos that will play as each well-known housemate arrives.

"The first ones are set to be filmed in just a couple of weeks in mid-February, and they should all be shot by the end of the month, bar any late signings.

"Producers want this year's stars to be really outrageous in their opening segments, so will be encouraging them to deliver their fighting talk and make dramatic promises that will hook viewers in."

When was the last Celebrity Big Brother?

The last Celebrity Big Brother was in 2018 and was won by former Coronation Star Ryan Thomas.

After Roxanne Pallett, a previous flatmate, accused Thomas of being a "woman beater" and "deliberately" striking her in the ribs, Thomas had a turbulent period in the house. However, video footage showed that the incident was just a playful altercation.

At the time he said: “The one thing I held on to in there was Sally [Morgan]. That was what I needed. We all know how something like that can stick on a man. I just wanted out and to be with my manager who could protect me because I thought I’d get a call from the police. I’m glad we had 24-hour surveillance.”

When asked if he might forgive Pallett, he replied, "If she wants forgiveness, I will give her that. She’s probably been punished enough by the public."

Who is going into Celebrity Big Brother 2024?

Nobody is confirmed at the moment but the latest rumours suggest seven celebrities.

Sharon Osbourne

Legendary X-Factor judge and TV personality Sharon Osbourne is rumoured to be appearing on the show.

Aged 71, the music manager was most recently seen on stage at the end of last year, in a talking show in London’s West End and Birmingham.

Her appearance on Celebrity Big Brother would be especially entertaining if she was joined by...

Louis Walsh

(Matt Crossick / PA Archive)

Fellow X-Factor judge Louis Walsh has long been discussed in connection with Celebrity Big Brother.

The TV personality and music manager was well-known for his love-hate friendship with Osbourne, with the pair going head-to-head via their singers on the talent show.

Fern Britton

(Ian West / PA)

According to the latest rumours, Fern Britton could also appear on the celebrity reality show.

She is best known for hosting This Morning between 1999 and 2009.

Jordan North

(Jordan Pettitt / PA)

Radio host Jordan North recently quit his BBC Radio 1 role to take on a spot at Capital Radio.

The rumours appear to have been sparked by Radio 1 co-host Vicky Hope jokingly writing on on Instagram: “Christ I’ll miss you so much Jord, what a radio legend and sweet sweet love. Will be voting for you every night on CBB!".

North replied to the comment with a laughter emoji, but did not comment further on the rumours.

Chloe Burrows

(PA)

Chloe Burrows is no stranger to reality TV, having first shot to fame on Love Island, followed by Celebs Go Dating.

She would surely feel right at home with cameras on her at all times during CBB.

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu

(Jonathan Brady / PA)

Another reality TV star that found fame on Love Island is Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, who has stayed in the limelight since her appearance in 2022.

She teased an exciting project earlier this month, sharing snaps from a photoshoot for “something exciting coming soon”.

Chloe Brockett

(PA)

After five years on The Only Way is Essex, reality star Chloe Brockett has announced her exit from the show, leading some fans to wonder if this suggests she’s paving the way for a CBB appearance.

The reality TV star shared news of her departure with fans on Instagram, writing a statement on her Stories on February 26 that she was “forever grateful to TOWIE for giving me the platform they have”.

Nikita Kuzmin

The Sun reports via show insiders that the Strictly Come Dancing performer will swap the dancefloor for the house in a few weeks.

David Potts

Star of Ibiza Weekender David Potts has a long history of reality TV credits, including The Big Celebrity Detox, Celebs Go Dating, Celebs on the Farm, Celebrity Karaoke Club, and Celebrity Ghost Trip.

He could well be about to add yet another to the list with Celebrity Big Brother.

Bradley Riches

Best known for his role in Netflix’s Heartstopper, 24-year-old Bradley Riches is one of the youngest celebs to be rumoured to join CBB.

The Sun reports that he hopes to bring good representation to the show, as a gay, autistic man.

Zeze Mills

Zeze Mills is well known for her blunt interview style but could be heading behind the camera to appear on CBB.

She has previously appeared on a number of TV shows, including Good Morning Britain, E4's Celebrity Cooking School, and The Victoria Derbyshire Show on the BBC.

Marisha Wallace

While the majority of this list features UK celebs, Marisha Wallace could be bringing some American personality to the show.

The 38-year-old is well known for her Broadway roles in shows Aladdin and Something Rotten, as well as taking on the alternate lead Effie White in Dreamgirls,

Colson Smith

(ITV)

Coronation Street actor Colson Smith could make a foray into reality TV on Celebrity Big Brother.

The casting would make perfect sense in terms of cross-promotion for ITV.

Lauren Simon

Another reality star, this time from The Real Housewives of Cheshire, Lauren Simon was revealed as a CBB name by The Sun last month.

This comes after she made headlines for a botched boob job last year, leaving her with lasting side-effects.

Gary Goldsmith

(PA)

Sources close to Gary Goldsmith state that Kate Middleton’s uncle could be on his way to the famed house.

This is an unusual move for someone so close to the royal family.

Levi Roots

Dragons’ Den star Levi has reportedly also joined the cast.

The Sun describes the multimillionaire as a great addition to the Big Brother house, with insiders saying he’s a "fun character" and an inspiration to a young generation of viewers.

Who is presenting Celebrity Big Brother?

The 40-second clip revealed AJ Odudu and Will Best as the hosts of the revived spin-off reality show. The TV presenting duo are reuniting after co-hosting ITV’s Big Brother last year.
