Celebration Bounty sweet appears on eBay for £26 after news of its removal from tubs

It's safe to say that Bounty's have caused a lot of controversy this week following the news of its removal from the Celebrations tubs.

The tragic news for many coconut lovers broke as Celebrations confirmed they will be removing the bite-sized bars from some of their tubs after research showed 40 per cent of people hated the sweet treat.

According to the BBC, Mars Wrigley said a limited run of "No Bounty" tubs would be available at 40 Tesco stores throughout the UK between November 8 and December 18 in the run-up to Christmas after the brand let shoppers return unwanted Bounties last year.

Although it will be removed as part of a trial, it has yet to be decide whether the treats would be banished for good.

However whilst some didn't care about it as they happily waved it goodbye, others were less than ok with the decision - so much so that one shopper has decided to auction off their Bounty sweet from a Celebrations tub.

And it even caught the attention of eBay themselves, which is where the sweet is being sold.

Whilst their tweet shows the treat being priced at 99p, the bid has now gone up by a rather shocking amount with someone bidding £26 for the singular coconut-based treat with three other bidders keen to get their hands on it. And it's not the only one of its kinds with several others being sold on the marketplace.

It also caught the attention of the brand with Celebrations quote tweeting it adding: "They saw an opportunity… and they took it."

Taking to the comments one said: "Pre loved? Does that mean chewed? Or was it caressed and fondled so much that it melted?" to which eBay replied: "We like to think it simply lost it's way from the tub and is out there looking for love."

Another added: "I hope it comes boxed, otherwise might get squished in the post!"

"I did nick all the bounties from my Halloween doorstep Celebrations box, because they're the only edible ones. Ate them before I realised that selling them on Ebay was an option" wrote a disappointed third.
