CCTV released after Nottingham pub burglary

Detectives investigating a pub burglary where a staff member was hit with a bottle have released a CCTV image.

A man suffered a large cut to his forehead which required hospital treatment after challenging an intruder who had broken into the bar in St James's Street, Nottingham.

The premises was closed to the public when a staff member came across a man picking up bottles of alcohol at around 1.30pm on February 23.

The offender left with the items after carrying out the assault.

Detective Constable Michelle Whitham, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "This was a nasty attack and we're determined to find the person responsible.

"We'd like to speak to the man in this image and are asking for him to come forward. We'd also appreciate if anyone who recognises him to get in touch with us.

"The victim has been recovering well but has been left shaken from coming across an intruder. No one should ever have to experience that and we won't tolerate violence in Nottinghamshire."

People with information are asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident 347 of 23 February.

Alternatively, please contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
