CBSE Class 10 Second Board Results 2026 expected soon: Check date, steps to check scorecard and other important guidelines

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to announce the Class 10 Second Board Result 2026 for improvement examinations conducted between May 15 and May 21. Once released, students will be able to access their scorecards through the official websites, cbse.gov.in and cbseresults.nic.in.

Students will need their roll number and other required login credentials to check and download their results.

Result announcement awaited

In an official notification issued on June 25, 2025, CBSE had stated that the results of the second board examination would be declared in June 2026. However, the board has not yet confirmed the exact date and time for the announcement.

Around 6.8 lakh students appeared for the second board examination conducted in May.

Performance in first phase

CBSE declared the Class 10 Phase 1 results on April 15, 2026. According to official data, 24,83,479 students registered for the examination, while 24,71,777 appeared.

A total of 23,16,008 students cleared the examination, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 93.70 per cent.

Students are required to secure at least 33 per cent marks in each subject to pass the Class 10 examination and become eligible for Class 11 admissions and further academic pursuits.

Science sees strong participation

Science recorded significant participation during the second board examination cycle, with many students opting to improve their scores in the subject.

Mathematics and Social Science also witnessed substantial participation, indicating that students were focused on strengthening their overall academic performance.

CBSE best-of-two rule explained

Under CBSE's best-of-two policy, students can appear for two board examinations in the same academic year.

The board compares subject-wise scores from both attempts and retains the higher marks obtained in each subject. The final marksheet reflects only the best scores and does not display an average of the two attempts.

How to check result through UMANG

Students can also access their results through the UMANG application by following these steps:

  • Download the UMANG app
  • Log in and select "All Services"
  • Choose "CBSE" and select the relevant class
  • Enter the roll number and other required details
  • View and download the result

Alternative ways to access results

Heavy traffic on result day may cause delays or temporary issues on CBSE websites.

In such cases, students can use alternative methods, including:

  1. DigiLocker through the website or mobile application
  2. SMS services using the format prescribed by CBSE
  3. IVRS helpline services provided by the board

Original documents to be issued later

The online scorecard is intended only for immediate reference and should not be treated as the final marksheet.

Students will receive their original marksheets and certificates through their respective schools after the completion of the result process, in accordance with CBSE procedures.

For Class 11 admissions, students generally require their original marksheet, transfer certificate, migration certificate where applicable and passport-size photographs.

Students advised to stay updated

CBSE has advised students to carefully review their results and consult teachers and parents regarding future academic decisions.

Students are also encouraged to monitor official CBSE announcements for any additional procedures or options that may be made available after the declaration of results.
