Earlier this week, CBS Sports released updated odds for the SEC Championship, which will take place in early December from Atlanta’s Mercedes Benz Stadium.
The Georgia Bulldogs have represented the East in each of the last two seasons in the game, and CBS gives the Dawgs +300 odds to come away with an SEC Championship victory in 2019. Alabama leads the pack with -160 odds.
About the Dawgs, the article said: “Coach Kirby Smart will trot out one of the best offensive lines in the country. He also has a strong group of running backs led by D’Andre Swift and an established star quarterback in Jake Fromm…The Bulldogs should cruise to the SEC Championship Game, and all it takes there is a good 60 minutes to take home the crown.”
While preseason odds such as these do not mean that much in the grand scheme of things, it is still comforting to see UGA getting the respect it deserves from the national media.
